Huawei, azienda leader mondiale nella fornitura di soluzioni di information e communication technology, annuncia il suo ingresso in ETNO (European Telecommunications Network Operators’ Association).
ETNO è un’associazione che include le principali aziende di telecomunicazioni e coinvolge oltre 1,6 milioni di addetti con un fatturato totale di 600 miliardi di Euro. Lo scopo primario è quello di instaurare un dialogo costruttivo tra le società associate e le figure istituzionali più importanti coinvolte nello sviluppo della Società dell’Informazione della Commissione Europea.
“Siamo orgogliosi di far parte di ETNO”, ha dichiarato Leo Sun, Presidente Public Affair e Comunicazione di Huawei Europa. “Huawei è la prima azienda cinese ad entrare in questa importante associazione, e collaboreremo con forte impegno per raggiungere gli obiettivi dell’Agenda Digitale. La nostra esperienza nel campo delle telecomunicazioni darà un contributo importante e concreto”, ha concluso Sun.
Insieme ad Huawei entrano a far parte di ETNO anche RIM e Cisco.

Brussels – Cisco, Huawei and Research In Motion (RIM) were approved today as new observer members by the ETNO Executive Board, bringing ETNO membership to 40 full members and 9 observer members. ETNO members and observers account together for a total turnover of up to 600 billion € and about 1.6 million employees.
“With the entry of Cisco, Huawei and Research in Motion, ETNO is extending its outreach and gains a lot of additional expertise and insight in new areas and markets. Enhanced cooperation with players from all segments of the value chain is essential to tackle challenges ahead and understand future policy challenges in reaching the goals of the Digital Agenda”, said Luigi Gambardella, ETNO Executive Board Chair.
ETNO new observers will contribute to ETNO work in particular in many areas such as corporate responsibility, spectrum, digital single market and content related issues, data protection and information security, internet governance, research and innovation as well as regulatory issues.
